Defuglified Maxis Faces - CAS Face Replacement Set

Wirklich fabelhaft!

    Danke schön (nochmals)!

hallo, sorry, but I don’t understand.
I visit your page on MtS2 and I download the replacement, but now, my question is: I must download also that replacement that are on your “blog”?

  5. selziam 25. März 2009 um 10:55

    Hi Adelaide!

The replacement at MTS2 is the same as this one - you don’t have to download both of them, just one! ;)

    Hi Selzi,

Two days ago, I finally installed this face template package, and removed cigen.package as in the installation instructions. And now I’m in trouble…

The game does not make a new cigen.package file, and in CAS I’m unable to see what I’m doing, because the Sim is just invisible…

I have no idea how to fix this, do you?

  7. FreeBeeam 13. Mai 2009 um 21:45

    And here I am again…

Apparently, the solution to the above issue is rather simple, though maybe not really obvious. Perhaps you could include the following line in the installation instructions next time:

“after removing cigen.package, run the Body Shop once, in order to recreate this file.”

    Happy Simming!

  8. selziam 16. Mai 2009 um 13:56

Hm, that’s weird. I regularly delete the cigen.package file (just like the cache files), and I’ve never had problems with invisible sims in CAS (nor have I ever read anything like that). Was the whole sim just invisible or just the head? I’m glad you were able to fix it fast, though! :D

  9. FreeBeeam 17. Mai 2009 um 19:53

The whole Sim was invisible… Not just the faces, but everything! I’ve heard from other sources that this shouldn’t happen.

Still, I’ve been having trouble with the CAS for two whole days after installing the faces. At the same time, my game took ten times as long to load. I thought I was having too much CC in my game.

After posting here, I tried opening Body Shop and found everything in working order. After closing BS, I saw that the .package was recreated. Then I opened the game, and suddenly everything worked the way it should. Normal loading speed, and everything working in CAS, too!

If cigen.package isn’t supposed to be related to these two issues at all, then I’m now even more confused: why did it work for me?

Anyway, I’m glad it all works again :)

I have no idea - but I guess that it WAS related, maybe due to the configuration of your game (for example the collection of EPs you have installed or something). Some things in the game are related that don’t seem logical at all. For example, when my game lags like hell I just need to make one of my sims have a booty call (via ACR). As soon as the sim greets his/her lover my game runs totally smooth. Twojeffs would laugh his head off over this, but this helps every time. I don’t care why, as long as it works … :D

I’ve heard that Deluxe and Double Deluxe tend to be different from the standard game in several ways. Maybe that’s the problem then, since I’m using Deluxe with all EPs/SPs.

TJ’s mods really make your game better: a booty call to stop your game from lagging! Hilarious :D

  12. selziam 28. Mai 2009 um 14:09

I’m not an expert at all, but the Deluxe issue totally sounds like a possibility to me. As long as stuff works I don’t care how hilarious it is … *LOL*

    Hallo!

    Hi,
I’m sorry but I can’t understand it. I’m italian and I speak only English, a bit German,a very bit. So I can’y understand… Please hel me… Those Faces can be used as? If I download them, they replace existed faces.
I’m sorry, my English is not so good. Can you send me an email please? Thanks.

  16. selziam 28. September 2009 um 11:26

    Ciao!

Those faces replace the 27 default faces Maxis provides in Body Shop and CAS. You know these head forms when you create a sim in Body Shop or Create a Sim? That’s what this download will replace. It also affects the features (eyes, noses, mouths, …) you can choose from when you make a sim - those will look different.

Face templates are also used by the game for creating new townies and NPCs. After putting these face templates into your Downloads folder every newly generated sim will have one of these 27 faces.

Every sim that’s already present in your game will not change his looks - only new sims are affected by these.

These faces are supposed to make your townies and NPCs a little prettier. People who like extremely diverse looking sims will probably think they’re boring, but if you’re looking for pretty faces that won’t produce monster children when you marry them to your own sims you’ll most certainly like them. :)

PS: I also sent you an email so you don’t have to come back here to look for the answer!

    Hello,

I am thinking about using your templates in my game but I have a question.

All Sim I save into the game from other sites will not change in the CAS due to the templates? They will stay the same when I go into CAS and then save them to the neighborhood?

Also, the templates will not automatically make over existing townies or NPC’s (which I am totally okay with)?

Thanks for the patience to answer my question. I know the last question is repetitive but I wanted to be sure what is going to happen.

    Again. Thanks. :)

That’s right, all of these sims will look the same, no matter what templates (custom made or the Maxis default faces) you’re using.

Also, the templates will not automatically make over existing townies or NPC’s (which I am totally okay with)?
No, all of your existing sims (your own as well as existing townies and NPCs) will stay the same. Only new sims that are made by you or created by the game after you have installed these templates will use the new faces.

Thanks for the patience to answer my question. I know the last question is repetitive but I wanted to be sure what is going to happen.
That’s totally fine - I wouldn’t want to install anything without knowing for sure what it changes in the game either! :D

    O, I hope, it works… :)
